Kara O'Keefe represents the Pharmacists' Association of Newfoundland and Labrador (PANL) on the CPhA Board of Directors. Since graduating with her BScPharm from Memorial University in 2016, Kara has spent the majority of her career practicing in rural Newfoundland. She completed her PharmD training in 2021 and has worked in both inpatient and outpatient hospital practice in internal medicine and oncology. Kara is currently the pharmacist-in-charge at Family Drug Mart in St. John's, where her work is dedicated to both primary care and long-term care practice. Kara is a passionate advocate for the optimization of the scope of practice of pharmacists across Canada. She is an Executive Member of the Pharmacists' Association of Newfoundland and Labrador and has served on the Wellness Task Force of the Canadian Pharmacists Association. Kara balances her work as a health-care provider with her career as a photographer.
