Catherine Rosebrugh

Catherine Rosebrugh is an Individual Director on the CPhA Board of Directors and is General Counsel at Lakeridge Health and at Oak Valley Health. Catherine was called to the bar in 2001 and worked at Fasken (Toronto) and DLA Piper (Austria) prior to going in house as General Counsel in the health care sector. Now a seasoned health-care executive, Catherine has advised hospitals on all legal matters affecting health sector corporations for over fifteen years. As Vice President at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, she was the executive lead for pharmacy, legal services, privacy, compliance, risk (including enterprise risk management and radiation safety) and telecommunications.  Catherine has provided legal advice to all departments of hospitals, including subsidiary corporations and the Board of Directors. Catherine has provided advice on legislation and regulatory matters affecting the hospital and its operations including the Public Hospitals Act (Ontario), the Pharmacy Act (Ontario), the Regulated Health Professions Act (Ontario), the Health Care Consent Act (Ontario), Mental Health Act (Ontario) and the Human Rights Code (Ontario). As a Vice President responsible for risk, privacy, radiation safety and compliance, Catherine led a consolidated risk portfolio allowing for greater integration of those services at Sunnybrook. Prior to going to law school Catherine was a special assistant to Allan Rock, Attorney General for Canada and later Chief of Staff for Leona Dombrowski, Minister of Environment (Ontario).
