Shawn Bugden represents AFPC on the CPhA Board of Directors and served as CPhA Chair for the 2022-2024 term. He is Dean at the School of Pharmacy at Memorial University of Newfoundland, an Adjunct Professor at the College of Pharmacy at the University of Manitoba and he maintains an active research program focussed on the outcomes of medication therapy (health policy, pharmacoepidemiology, pharmacovigilance). Shawn has a background in hospital pharmacy administration. He is actively involved in the pharmacoeconomic evaluations of oncology drugs and has an interest in opioid stewardship and safety. Shawn also promotes evidence-based practice through the MEDS (Medication Evidence and Decision Support) Conference and is actively involved in post-marketing drug evaluation and knowledge translation on optimal drug use to primary care practitioners.
