Supply update on antibiotics and analgesics
Following the unprecedented shortages of common medications we saw last season, Health Canada, CPhA and other partners continue to be involved in regular discussions about our drug supply. While shortages of analgesics are not expected, Canada’s antibiotic supply is expected to be strained again this season. CPhA continues to maintain two resource pages that include the latest supply info about analgesics and antibiotics.

Canadians and vaccine fatigue: What does that mean for flu season?
New results from CPhA’s annual national vaccination survey show that over half of Canadians have moderate to very high vaccine fatigue, pointing to some potentially concerning trends as we head into flu season.
Ozempic supply: Information and resources for pharmacists
The Ozempic 1 mg dose pen is currently in short supply due to overall global supply constraints and increased demand. CPhA has collaborated with medSask to provide guidance for managing this shortage, including information about alternative therapies.
Pharmacy and climate change: Volunteer opportunities available
Interested in contributing towards climate change and planetary health? The Canadian Association of Pharmacy for the Environment (CAPhE) is seeking volunteer pharmacists and technicians to support their efforts for 2-3 hours per week (training provided).
