Government announces expansion of student loan forgiveness program to include pharmacists
Great news! The 2024 federal budget includes a commitment to expanding the Canada Student Loan Forgiveness Program to pharmacists working in rural and remote communities. This is a huge advocacy win and is thanks to our strong partnership with CAPSI and the recent #PharmLoanForgive campaign that garnered hundreds of letters to elected officials.
Autism spectrum disorder: Practice guidelines
Autism spectrum disorder is a neurodevelopmental condition with an increasing prevalence in North America. ASD symptoms often require complex pharmacological treatments, including antipsychotics, stimulants and antidepressants. As studies show that pharmacists may currently have limited knowledge of ASD, these practice guidelines aim to make them central players in the care team of ASD patients.

IPPC names CPhA Indigenous Supporter of the Year
In March, the Indigenous Pharmacy Professionals of Canada (IPPC) named CPhA the inaugural winner of the Indigenous Pharmacy Supporter of the Year award. CPhA is honoured to receive this recognition and grateful for the opportunity to support critical efforts to improve health equity for Indigenous communities and representation of Indigenous pharmacy professionals.
