Pharmacists urge vaccination as fewer than half of Canadians plan to get their flu or COVID-19 shots this fall
October 28, 2025 –  As Canada enters another respiratory virus season, pharmacists are urging Canadians to protect themselves and their communities as new polling shows vaccination intentions remain low.

The Canadian Pharmacists Association partners with University of Toronto Press to publish the Canadian Pharmacists Journal beginning in January 2026
October 2, 2025 – CPhA is pleased to announce a new partnership with The University of Toronto Press (UTP) for publication of the Canadian Pharmacists Journal (CPJ). Beginning in January 2026, UTP will assume full publishing responsibilities for CPJ.

CPhA calls for regulation of insurer practices straining pharmacies and threatening patient choice
September 4, 2025 – CPhA is calling on governments to take action to regulate the practices of pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) and insurers that are placing unnecessary strain on pharmacies and undermining patients’ ability to choose where they receive care. To support its call, CPhA is releasing template legislation designed to improve transparency, safeguard patient choice, and reduce administrative burdens for pharmacists.

Indigenous Pharmacy Professionals of Canada announces 2025-2026 scholarship recipients
August 20, 2025 – The Indigenous Pharmacy Professionals of Canada (IPPC), in partnership with the Canadian Pharmacists Association (CPhA), is thrilled to announce the 2025-2026 recipients of the IPPC Indigenous Pharmacy Scholarship.

CPhA welcomes Competition Bureau Investigation into Express Scripts Canada
April 11, 2025 – This action follows the formal complaint CPhA filed with the Bureau in February 2024, which raised serious concerns about ESC’s use of its dominant position in the pharmacy benefits management (PBM) market, including the imposition of a mandatory service fee on pharmacies across the country.
