March 26, 2025 – Dr. Debbie Kelly has been named the 2025 Canadian Pharmacist of the Year by the Canadian Pharmacists Association (CPhA), recognizing her leadership and groundbreaking work in HIV care, health equity and the advancement of pharmacy practice.
CPhA calls on federal parties to prioritize drug supply protection and expanded access to primary care
March 24, 2025 – As Canada enters a federal election campaign, the Canadian Pharmacists Association (CPhA) is calling on all parties to commit to concrete actions that will protect Canada’s drug supply and improve access to primary care by enabling pharmacists and other health professionals to practice to their full education and training.

January 10, 2025 – The Canadian Pharmacists Association (CPhA) is encouraged by federal health minister Mark Holland’s recent statement clarifying Canada Health Act rules around access to medically necessary services.
CPhA urges pause on PrescribeIT transaction fee that will threaten the sustainability of Canadian pharmacies
December 17, 2024 – CPhA is urging Canada Health Infoway to delay the implementation of its proposed $0.20 per transaction fee for PrescribeIT, Canada’s national e-prescribing solution. Set to take effect on January 1, 2025, the fee would place significant financial pressure on pharmacies nationwide and likely result in pharmacies dropping out of the program.
