This past February, the federal Minister of Health, the Hon. Mark Holland, introduced Bill C-64 in the House of Commons. Bill C-64, An Act respecting pharmacareproposed a universal, single-payer system that would provide Canadians with access to 2 specific drug classes: contraception and diabetes. Recognizing that provinces and territories currently provide access to public drug plans, the Bill seeks to establish a framework through which the federal government can provide fundingto the provinces and territories to implement the proposed pharmacare program.

CPhA is thrilled to publish our newest CPS chapter, Dermatological Considerations in Skin of Colour. With dozens of images and tips for patient assessment, this new chapter aims to address the underrepresentation of diversity in clinical education and literature concerning the diagnosis and treatment of dermatological conditions in individuals with skin of colour.

CPhA concluded its inaugural national summit on the future of primary care and outlines a vision for a health-care system where pharmacy is recognized as a first stop in the primary care journey for all peoples in Canada.
