International Pharmacy Graduates

Becoming licensed and building your career as a pharmacist in Canada is an exciting journey, but it can come with challenges. The IPG Mentorship & Integration project is here to provide the support and resources you need to overcome many of these barriers as you pursue licensure in Canada, including:

Learning opportunities: Expand your knowledge about licensure and pharmacy practice in Canada. Participate in sessions focused on preparing for licensure exams, developing professional communication skills and understanding workplace expectations and culture.
Mentorship and networking: Build connections with experienced pharmacists and peers who can guide you through your journey.
Practical experience: Gain hands-on experience in a community pharmacy, developing the skills and knowledge needed for the exams and a successful start to your career in Canada.
Professional development: Access resources and training to support your professional growth and integration into the Canadian workforce.

Verify your eligibility before you apply

All IPG project participants must:

Be a permanent or temporary resident, Canadian citizen or person granted refugee status in Canada, who are legally entitled to work in Canada.
Hold an internationally obtained undergraduate degree in pharmacy.
Not currently be a registered/licensed pharmacist in any Canadian province or territory, and be actively pursuing pharmacist licensure in Canada.

Additional eligibility requirements for each project activity:

Learning Sessions	No additional eligibility requirements

Engagement Sessions	Canadian Language Benchmark of 7+ (preferred) or equivalent One of the following: Passed the PEBC Evaluating Exam Applied for, or attempted, the PEBC Qualifying Exam – Part I (MCQ) Accepted into a streamlined pathway (PEBC or select provinces) Granted partial equivalence (minimum) by OPQ in Quebec with compensatory measures in progress Registered as a student or intern (or equivalent) with a provincial regulatory authority / College of pharmacy

Mentee Applications Temporarily Closed

The IPG mentee application is currently closed while we update our eligibility criteria to reflect recent changes from PEBC. If you do not already receive project updates via email, please email ipgmi@pharmacists.ca to request an update once applications reopen.

Once your application is approved and you’ve been screened to verify your eligibility, you’ll have access to all the mentorship activities available through our project as well as the employment and transition supports offered to our project participants through ACCES Employment.
