What to Expect
When you host an IPG placement, you can expect:
- Supportive matching: We carefully screen mentees and match them with your pharmacy based on your respective needs and interests.
- Training and resources: Access to training materials and resources to help your team effectively support and integrate IPGs into your practice.
- Wage subsidy: Subsidized wages for mentees during the work placement and a professional fee for hosting the work placement.
- Ongoing support: Continuous support from the project team to ensure a successful placement experience for both your pharmacy and the IPG.
Your Role as a Host
As a placement host, your responsibilities include:
- Providing practical experience: Offer IPGs hands-on experience in various aspects of pharmacy practice.
- Facilitating learning opportunities: Support IPGs by providing access to pharmacy resources, training and exposure to diverse pharmacy operations.
- Providing a safe and supportive environment: Create an inclusive and supportive work environment that encourages learning and growth.
Get Started
- Mentor application: The pharmacist mentor on your team must apply and be interviewed by project staff to match them with a mentee.
- Placement agreement: Before the placement begins, the pharmacy owner or manager must sign the work placement agreement between the pharmacy and CPhA.
