Transgender and Gender-Diverse Individuals
CPhA has developed an expanded version of the Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) Toolkit specifically to support pharmacists in providing inclusive and affirming sexual and reproductive health services to transgender and gender-diverse (TGD) patients. Building on the core toolkit, this TGD-focused collection offers additional guidance and practical resources designed to help pharmacists deliver respectful, patient-centred care as their scope of practice continues to grow across Canada.
This toolkit includes learning modules, counselling supports and downloadable tools to help pharmacists integrate inclusive best practices into everyday care for TGD patients.
Inclusive Pharmacy Resources
Resources for all pharmacy staff
For TGD patients to comfortably access the SRH services pharmacists provide, they need to feel safe, welcomed and respected. An affirming environment begins with ensuring that every member of the pharmacy team has the knowledge and awareness needed to avoid unintentionally causing harm or retraumatizing patients, especially during moments of vulnerability.
Below, you’ll find practical tools and resources to help pharmacy managers and staff create inclusive, supportive spaces for TGD patients seeking SRH care.
