Fostering inclusive pharmacy workplaces for internationally educated pharmacists
CPhA has developed a short, self-paced online module to help pharmacy owners, managers, mentors and staff support the successful integration of International Pharmacy Graduates (IPGs) onto their teams.
This free training introduces key considerations for working with internationally educated pharmacists, including common challenges, opportunities for support, and approaches to fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
Whether you’re hosting an IPG for a mentored work placement or simply looking to strengthen your team’s cultural competency, the training module offers strategies you can apply in your day-to-day practice.
By the end of the training, participants will be able to:
- Describe common challenges faced by IPGs in the process of becoming licensed in Canada
- Apply strategies to support IPGs through cultural, linguistic and professional integration challenges
- Recognize and value the diverse skills, experiences and perspectives that IPGs contribute to the pharmacy workplace
- Identify actions they can take to create a more inclusive and supportive environment for IPGs
