IPPC Indigenous Pharmacy Scholarship by BioScript Solutions
2024-25 Pharmacy Technician Scholarship Recipient
Nicole Beskorwayne
Saskatchewan Polytechnic
Nicole Beskorwayne is a 29-year-old Métis student entering her first year of the Pharmacy Technician program at Saskatchewan Polytechnic.
During high school, Nicole worked 2 jobs, one of which was as an assistant/front clerk in a pharmacy in her hometown of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. After she finished high school, Nicole moved to Saskatoon in hopes of finding out what she wanted to be. She worked in the retail/service industry for several years, learning a lot about leadership and developing a true passion for helping people access resources and possibilities. Ready for a new challenge and recalling her positive experience at the pharmacy back home, Nicole decided to take the leap and enrol in the pharmacy technician program. “I always knew I wanted to do something big, but nothing really seemed to be the right fit, until now,” she says. “It has taken me awhile to figure it out, but I know this is exactly where I am meant to be.”
Once her program is completed, Nicole hopes to continue her education and further her knowledge to help and support others as much as possible. She is looking forward to exploring more of her Métis heritage, and to supporting her peers and patients throughout her education and as she begins her career.
Nicole is incredibly grateful to have been chosen as the 2024-25 recipient of the IPPC Indigenous Scholarship by BioScript Solutions. Work has always been a big part of Nicole’s life. Receiving this scholarship will allow her to spend more time on her studies and do what she needs to do to succeed. Her family and friends are her biggest supporters and will be beside her every step of the way.
