Ways to celebrate Pharmacy Appreciation Month!
Pharmacy Appreciation Month (PAM) is back this March, shining a spotlight on the pharmacy teams Canadians rely on every day. However you choose to participate, PAM is an opportunity to celebrate your impact and help build momentum for the future of pharmacy. We’ve put together a few ideas to get you started!
Join the conversation
Celebrate PAM on social media throughout March. Use our sample messages and graphics to highlight your team, share what pharmacists can do and showcase the impact you have in your community. Don’t forget to use #PAM2026.
Check out what your provincial pharmacy association is doing and join their online conversations to see how others are marking the month.
Say thanks!
A simple thank you can be powerful. Whether you’re a patient recognizing the pharmacy team you depend on or a pharmacy professional acknowledging a colleague, take time this March to show your appreciation. After all, it’s Pharmacy Appreciation Month.
Engage your patients
PAM is the perfect time to talk with patients about the care and services you provide. Start conversations at the counter, highlight specific services with signage or host a small in-pharmacy or virtual information session on topics like minor ailments, chronic disease management or vaccinations.
You can also invite patients to participate in our #MyFavePharm contest, where they can share why they appreciate their pharmacy team for a chance to win a prize. It’s a simple way to celebrate your team’s impact—in patients’ own words.
Help us put faces to PAM
We’d love to feature you and your pharmacy team in our PAM 2026 materials! Snap a pic of yourself or your pharmacy team in action and email us at socialmedia@pharmacists.ca to participate. Please include the name and location (city and province/territory) of your pharmacy and the full names of any team members in the photo. Your photos help show Canadians the people behind the pharmacy counter—and the impact pharmacy teams have every day.
Pharmacists CAN: Spotlight what pharmacists are educated to do
This year, PAM also supports the broader movement to ensure pharmacists can practise to the full extent of their education and training.
The National Benchmark for Pharmacy Practice outlines the health-care services pharmacists in Canada are educated to provide across five key areas of practice. It serves as a national reference point and reinforces the profession’s training and competencies.
With a clear national vision in place, the next step is action.
Pharmacists CAN is a national advocacy campaign to rally Canadians and decision makers in support of fully enabling pharmacists across the country.
You can get involved by:
- Exploring and sharing the Benchmark with colleagues and partners
- Using it to help explain your scope and training to patients
- Visiting pharmacistscan.ca to learn more (coming soon)
- Sending a letter to your elected representatives using the online advocacy tool (launching in March)
- Encouraging patients and your community to add their voices
Together, these efforts aim to ensure pharmacists are empowered to meet patient needs and strengthen Canada’s health system.
For owners and managers: Celebrate your pharmacy team
Put the “appreciation” in Pharmacy Appreciation Month by recognizing your team’s hard work and dedication.
- Express your gratitude: A simple thank you—shared in person or in writing—can make a real difference. Consider small tokens of appreciation or a team lunch to mark the month.
- Take your appreciation online: Does your pharmacy have social media pages? Why not profile your pharmacy team (with their permission) for PAM. Check out the hashtag #PAM2026 for some inspiration.
- Host a PAM gathering: Get the full team together to mark Pharmacy Appreciation Month.
- Let your patients do the talking: Share the #MyFavePharm contest on your pharmacy social media accounts, giving patients the opportunity to nominate one of your team members for going above and beyond! Put up a contest poster at the pharmacy counter or waiting area.
- Help get their story told: Do you have a team member who exemplifies the power of pharmacy? A story that you think needs to be told? Reach out to see if they can be featured in CPhA’s Pharmacy Check-in series. This series features Q&As with inspiring pharmacy professionals from across Canada.
Spread the word with your local community and media
Connect with local media, community groups or partner organizations to talk about Pharmacy Appreciation Month and the growing role of pharmacy teams in Canada’s health-care system.
PAM is more than a celebration—it’s an opportunity to highlight the care pharmacy teams provide every day and to help build momentum for a future where pharmacists can practise to the full extent of their education and training.
