Keynote

Danielle Paes, PharmD

Danielle Paes

Dr. Danielle Paes is the Chief Pharmacist Officer (CPO) at the Canadian Pharmacists Association (CPhA) where she is driving strategic efforts in the areas of pharmacy practice, workforce sustainability and diversity, equity and inclusion. In addition to her role at CPhA, Danielle practises in a community setting, and has previously held roles in hospital pharmacy, industry and academia.

 

Dermatological Considerations in Skin of Colour (1 CEU)

Ravina Sanghera, BSc.Pharm, MHSE, PharmD

Ravina Sanghera

Dr. Ravina Sanghera is a Vice-Provost and the Dean of Students at the University of Alberta and also holds the position of Clinical Associate Professor in the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. She teaches various dermatology modules in the PharmD programs at the UoA, University of Waterloo and Dalhousie University. Her scholarly work focuses on dermatological assessment in the skin of colour, acne, psoriasis, and atopic dermatitis, and she has worked alongside an interdisciplinary healthcare team in the provision of dermatological care. She is the author of the CPS chapter, Dermatological Considerations in Skin of Colour.

 

Caring for Gender Diverse Patients in Clinical Practice (1 CEU)

Greg Richard, RPh, BSc(Pharm)

Greg Richard

Greg Richard is a pharmacist and the owner of Boyd's Pharmasave, a community pharmacy located in the North End of Halifax. He has been passionately working to provide safe and inclusive pharmacy care to his patients for the past three years, focusing on improving access to gender-affirming care and sexual health services, and always pushing the envelope to demonstrate the potential of community pharmacists.

 

Inclusive UTI Care: Addressing Gender Diversity in Pharmacy Practice (1 CEU)

Brett Barrett, RPh, BScH, BScPhm

Brett Barrett

Brett Barrett is an Associate Professor (Teaching Stream) at the University of Waterloo School of Pharmacy, teaching infectious disease pharmacotherapy and antimicrobial stewardship. With over 20 years of experience, she prepares pharmacists for evolving roles in patient care. Brett also consults for MAPflow, a clinical tool supporting minor ailment management, including urinary tract infections.

 

Kyle Wilby, BSP, ACPR, PharmD, PhD

Kyle Wilby

Kyle Wilby is a Professor and Director of the College of Pharmacy and Assistant Dean to the Faculty of Health at Dalhousie University. He spent 10 years working abroad in Ghana, Qatar and New Zealand in academic and administrative positions. His research interests include workforce development, 2SLGBTAQI+ health and education, and systems-based inclusivity. He has published over 130 peer reviewed articles and is an Associate Editor for the American Journal of Pharmaceutical Education. He is the Founding Chair of the global think tank RxSHARE (Pharmacists for Sexual and Gender Health Advocacy, Reform, and Equity).

Sarah Jennings

Dr. Sarah Jennings is the Editor-in-Chief of CPS at the Canadian Pharmacists Association (CPhA) and maintains a clinical practice at a hospital in Ottawa. She is a pharmacist with broad experience in community, hospital, health region, provincial, and national settings. She has expertise in evidence-based medicine, drug policy, and knowledge mobilization.
