On November 23, 2024, the Canadian Pharmacists Association (CPhA) hosted the virtual CPS Health-Care Symposium: Addressing Diversity and Equitable Care. This half-day event focused on addressing the unique needs of diverse patient populations and provided health-care professionals with the latest tools, knowledge and critical CPS content updates to make their practice more inclusive.

Learning Objectives

This event supported health-care professionals with knowledge, skills and resources needed to provide compassionate and equitable care to all patients, regardless of their background and identity. More specifically, it:

  1. Provided health-care professionals with the latest clinical updates and evidence-based practices for dermatological considerations among people of colour for sensitive and effective patient care.
  2. Discussed the unique health challenges affecting trans patients, to foster a more inclusive healthcare environment where health-care professionals are equipped to address the specific needs of transgender and non-binary individuals.
  3. Shared insights and strategies for managing urinary tract infections (UTIs) among gender diverse populations, to understand nuances and challenges faced by these groups in accessing healthcare.

Programs and Speakers
