The Canadian Pharmacists Association (CPhA) is hosting on November 23, 2024, the virtual CPS Health-Care Symposium: Addressing Diversity and Equitable Care. This half-day event will focus on addressing the unique needs of diverse patient populations and provide health-care professionals with the latest tools, knowledge and critical CPS content updates to make their practice more inclusive.

Learning Objectives

This event will support health-care professionals with knowledge, skills and resources needed to provide compassionate and equitable care to all patients, regardless of their background and identity. More specifically, it will:

  1. Provide health-care professionals with the latest clinical updates and evidence-based practices for dermatological considerations among people of colour for sensitive and effective patient care.
  2. Discuss the unique health challenges affecting trans patients, to foster a more inclusive healthcare environment where health-care professionals are equipped to address the specific needs of transgender and non-binary individuals.
  3. Share insights and strategies for managing urinary tract infections (UTIs) among gender diverse populations, to understand nuances and challenges faced by these groups in accessing healthcare.
