The Canadian Pharmacists Association partners with University of Toronto Press to publish the Canadian Pharmacists Journal beginning in January 2026
The Canadian Pharmacists Association (CPhA) is pleased to announce a new partnership with The University of Toronto Press (UTP) for publication of the Canadian Pharmacists Journal (CPJ). Beginning in January 2026, UTP (Canada’s largest university press and leading academic publisher) will assume full publishing responsibilities for CPJ.
Founded in 1868, the Canadian Pharmacists Journal is the oldest continuously published periodical in Canada and a vital resource for pharmacists, researchers, and health-care professionals. It publishes peer-reviewed research, clinical insights, and practice-based articles that inform and advance pharmacy practice across the country.
This strategic partnership brings together two organizations with a shared commitment to excellence in scholarly communication. By joining UTP’s distinguished journals program, CPJ will benefit from enhanced editorial and production support, expanded distribution, and increased visibility within the global academic and health-care communities.
“We are honoured to welcome CPJ to our publishing portfolio,” said Antonia Pop, Vice President, Publishing Division at UTP. “This collaboration reflects our mission to publish rigorous and impactful scholarship that contributes to public knowledge and professional practice. CPJ plays a critical role in shaping the future of pharmacy in Canada, and we are proud to support its continued growth.”
Ross T. Tsuyuki, Editor-in-Chief of CPJ, added, “Partnering with UTP marks an exciting new chapter for the journal. Their expertise in academic publishing will help us strengthen our editorial processes and broaden our reach, while continuing to serve the pharmacy community with trusted, evidence-informed content.”
