Dispatch from Halifax: CPhA represents Canada's pharmacists during Council of the Federation meetings

We've been going to the Council of the Federation meetings for almost 10 years. When Canada’s premiers gather we are there, making sure that Canada’s pharmacists are represented. We attend because the premiers are having important discussions about health care, and we want to make sure that they hear from pharmacists about the issues that impact pharmacy practice.

This year we hosted a reception in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and met premiers from almost every province. Without fail, every single premier and staff person we met commented on the increased role that pharmacists have played in primary care. CPhA thanks McKesson Canada for their sponsorship of the reception.

We're grateful to Premier Houston, the host of this year's Council of the Federation meeting, for his support of pharmacists in Nova Scotia and for championing pharmacist care with his premier colleagues throughout their meetings.
