CPhA's CPO Dr. Danielle Paes announced as one of Canada's Most Powerful Women

The Canadian Pharmacists Association is thrilled to congratulate our very own Chief Pharmacist Officer, Dr. Danielle Paes, on becoming one of the 2024 Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100.

Danielle Paes

Danielle graduated from the University of Waterloo School of Pharmacy Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy program in 2014 and completed the bridging PharmD program in 2018. She has exhibited both a passion and penchant for pharmacy leadership since her earliest days in pharmacy, taking on leadership roles both during her education and as she entered the profession.

Taking on the role of CPO in 2021, Danielle has worked tirelessly to strengthen the connection between CPhA and front-line pharmacists across Canada. As a key member of our senior management team, Danielle drives strategic efforts in the areas of pharmacy practice, workforce sustainability and diversity, equity and inclusion. She is spearheading work on professional wellness, with a focus on promoting safe and inclusive pharmacy environments that empower pharmacy professionals to practice with autonomy, find fulfillment and develop their own leadership abilities.

“Danielle is a fearless ambassador for positive change who has demonstrated passion and an unwavering commitment to lead the way for the next generation of emerging female pharmacy leaders,” says CPhA CEO Glen Doucet.

A champion for equity, Danielle has been integral in CPhA’s efforts to build trust and enhance relationships with underrepresented groups. “As a woman of colour, Danielle is often the only leader in the room amplifying collective strength, diversity and innovative solutions that bring equitable health outcomes,” said Amy Lamb, CEO, Indigenous Pharmacy Professionals of Canada. “The resilience that she has shown in this unique positioning cannot be understated.”

Throughout her career, Danielle has been universally acknowledged as a dynamic and forward-thinking pharmacist, with an unwavering commitment to the evolution of pharmacy and the professionals she represents. CPhA is incredibly proud to have Danielle as a member of our team.
