Break the Habit
A Pharmacist’s Toolkit for Smoking Cessation Counselling
Pharmacists play a crucial role in supporting patients’ efforts to quit smoking. Despite declining smoking rates in Canada, 12% of Canadians aged 15 and older reported smoking in 2022. This sobering statistic highlights the ongoing need for comprehensive smoking cessation efforts.
CPhA has created a series of resources to equip pharmacists with tools and strategies they need to deliver effective smoking cessation interventions. We have also provided programs, digital resources and insurance information that you can share with your patients, making it easier for them to get the support they need to successfully quit smoking.
This toolkit has been supported by an educational grant from Kenvue.
