CPJ is going open access
We are pleased to announce that starting in January 2026, the Canadian Pharmacists Journal (CPJ) will become a fully open access publication.
This important transition reflects our commitment to advancing pharmacy practice and research by making high-quality, peer-reviewed content freely available to readers worldwide. Open access means that anyone, anywhere can read and cite CPJ articles without subscription requirements—enhancing the visibility, reach, and impact of the work we publish.
What this means for readers:
- Free and immediate access to all CPJ articles
- Greater discoverability through indexing in major databases
- Support for evidence-informed practice across Canada and beyond
What this means for authors:
- Broader readership and citation potential
- Compliance with funder mandates for open access publishing
- Continued rigorous peer review and editorial support
To support the costs of open access publishing, manuscripts submitted after November 1, 2025 will be subject to article processing charge (APC) of $1500 + applicable tax. We remain committed to maintaining the high editorial standards and service that authors and readers expect from CPJ.
We look forward to this exciting new chapter and to continuing to serve the pharmacy community with accessible, impactful research.
