Content updates

Major updates

The following content has been extensively updated and reviewed by 2 external peer reviewers:

• Fungal Skin Infections: New patient infographic.
• Drug-induced Skin Reactions: New information on skin reactions with DPP-4 inhibitors and EGFR inhibitors; added several new photos showing multiple skin tones and examples of Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermic necrolysis, photosensitivity, and acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis; new patient infographic.
• HIV Infection: Treatment: Routine review; updated to align with current guidelines and Canadian clinical practice.

Minor updates

The following content has been reviewed to ensure that it is current:

• Drugs in Dentistry: Updated to reflect Choosing Wisely Canada and American Dental Association guidelines; updated options for patients with penicillin allergy.
• Gender-Affirming Care: Added a Resources section linking to CPhA’s Sexual and Reproductive Health Toolkit.
• Opioid Related Disorders: Updated to reflect CANMAT guidelines recommending that methadone and suboxone are both first-line options; added discussion of slow-release morphine (Kadian) as an off-label specialist-led option and added this product to the drug table.

Drug monographs

The following drug monograph was recently added:

• Neffy (epinephrine): Catecholamine / Sympathomimetic.
