Content updates
Major updates
The following content has been extensively updated and reviewed by 2 external peer reviewers:
- Acute Bronchitis: Added link to NACI recommendations; added information on the risks of codeine and Health Canada’s recommendation to avoid during breastfeeding; added the importance of counselling patients on the duration of cough.
- Eating Disorders: Added new sections on binge-eating disorder and avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID).
- Fever: New patient infographic available in English and French.
- Plantar Warts: New patient infographic available in English and French.
Minor updates
The following content has been reviewed to ensure that it is current:
- Chronic Spasticity
- Infant Colic
- Infant Nutrition: Clarified contraindications to breastfeeding.
- Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV): Updated with new vaccine indications.
- Ventricular Tachyarrhythmias: Added new information on catheter ablation.
Drug monographs
The following drug monographs were recently added:
- Adynovate (antihemophilic factor (recombinant), pegylated): Antihaemorrhagic Blood Coagulation Factor VIII
- Cuvitru (Normal Immunoglobulin (Human)): Replacement Therapy for Immunodeficiencies
- Elaprase (idursulfase): Enzyme Replacement Therapy
- Glassia (alpha–1 proteinase inhibitor (human)): Alpha-1 Proteinase Inhibitor (Human)
- Vesanoid (tretinoin): Antineoplastic agents - Retinoids for cancer treatment
