CPhA Learning: Reflecting on a foundational year of growth
CPhA’s Sadaf Faisal shares her thoughts on one of CPhA’s key projects of 2025 – the launch of CPhA Learning.
As pharmacy practice continues to expand, driven by evolving patient needs and broader clinical responsibilities, the need for timely and practical professional development has never been greater. Pharmacists need flexible education that keeps pace with practice realities.
With this vision in mind, we launched CPhA Learning in April — an online learning platform, offering high-quality and evidence-based continuing education (CE) to help pharmacy professionals advance their skills and stay at the forefront of practice. As a CCCEP-accredited provider, CPhA delivers education that meets national standards and reflects today’s expectations for interactive, learner-centred professional development.

A strong start in 2025
In just a few months, CPhA Learning has become a trusted destination for pharmacy professionals seeking credible, accessible education. Nearly 2000 users have joined the platform since launch, exploring a growing catalogue of high-quality, evidence-based content tailored to evolving practice needs.
A key strength this year has been the depth and diversity of our programming. We’ve partnered with many of the leading voices in pharmacy practice—researchers, clinicians, educators and practice leaders—to develop practical and trusted content. Their expertise is reflected across our 17 courses and nine expert-led webinars, which span priority areas such as deprescribing, point-of-care testing, immunization, pain management, dyslipidemia, obesity, travel health and emerging public-health issues.
Listening to the profession
To ensure CPhA Learning continues to evolve alongside the profession, we undertook a national needs assessment this summer to better understand the learning priorities, challenges and topic areas pharmacy professionals want most. Your feedback reinforced what we hear consistently: pharmacists are looking for education that is relevant, practical and aligned with the realities of frontline care. This input has already informed our course development roadmap — from the topics we prioritize to the formats we develop — and will guide program planning as we look ahead to 2026 and beyond.
Speaking of 2026…
As we build on this year’s momentum, 2026 will focus on expanding in-house program development, strengthening partnerships with subject-matter experts and organizations, and diversifying learning formats — including enhanced microlearning and innovative delivery approaches. We’re particularly excited to expand our sexual and reproductive health toolkit through new federal funding we’ve secured, including Indigenous-led resources developed in partnership with the Indigenous Pharmacy Professionals of Canada (IPPC), as well as new materials to support the SRH needs of transgender and gender-diverse patients.
Building the future of pharmacy education
CPhA Learning was built to be more than a collection of courses — it is a growing hub for high-quality, evidence-based education that supports excellence in pharmacy practice. The first months of the platform have shown strong engagement, clear interest and a profession eager for centralized, trusted CE resources.
As we look ahead to 2026, we remain committed to supporting pharmacy professionals with the tools they need to learn, grow and lead. Thank you to everyone who has joined us so far. We’re excited to continue expanding CPhA Learning — and to keep evolving alongside the profession we serve.
