From your organization's perspective, what is the biggest challenge facing pharmacy and/or the health-care system?

The pace of change in pharmacists scope of practice has been, and continues to, rapidly increase. This puts pressures on pharmacists and pharmacy teams to deliver high quality care that also meets provincial and college requirements.

How can we work together to overcome this challenge?

Providing up-to-date drug and disaese information is a shared goal of MAPflow and CPhA. CPS Full Access is integrated into MAPflow such that pharmacists can, during an assessment, find just-in-time information, increasing pharmacist confidence and enhancing patient care.

What is your organization currently working on that would be of interest to the broader pharmacy community?

MAPflow provides province specific minor ailment assessment and prescribing algorithms that meets the needs for all documentation. MAPflow includes other services beyond minor ailments algorithms such as smoking cessation and oseltamivir. Chronic disease management is an area of interest to the broader pharmacy community and MAPflow is releasing workflows for this and other services (Medication Reviews, Rx Renewals, Rx Adaptations, Pharmaceutical Opinions).

Why does your organization collaborate/partner with CPhA as a Technology Partner?

Both organizations care deeply about empowering pharmacists to provide outstanding patient care. CPhA’s CPS Full Access bring a wealth of information to the pharmacy team and MAPflow provides a state-of-the-art method for delivering services bolstered by this information. A perfect match.
