Business Development Manager (1 year term)

The Canadian Pharmacists Association (CPhA) is actively recruiting for a Business Development Manager to join our Corporate Services department. This is a 12-month contract with potential for renewal based on performance and organizational needs.

We are a fully remote workforce and are looking for someone who is able to be fully productive, efficient and effective in a remote environment.

Job Summary

The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving revenue through the sale of Compendium of Pharmaceuticals and Supplements (CPS) product listings and multiple digital advertising opportunities. This role involves both new business development and renewals for existing clients, end-to-end sales process management, and ensuring a high-quality client experience.

The ideal candidate is a motivated sales professional with experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare sectors, strong relationship-building skills, and a proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets.

Duties and Tasks

  • Drive new business and renewals for CPS listings and digital advertising opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across client and prospective client organizations, including pharmaceutical companies, medical device providers, natural health product companies, etc.
  • Manage client accounts and campaign delivery, ensuring ads and listings are executed accurately and on schedule.
  • Own the client relationship as the primary contact throughout the sales cycle and continuing through the duration of their partnership with CPhA
  • Identify opportunities to grow existing accounts through upsells and additional products.
  • Prepare proposals, contracts, and reports to support client objectives.
  • Collaborate with marketing, product, and finance teams to ensure a seamless client experience.

Qualifications

Education

  • University degree in business, marketing or related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • MBA would be considered an asset.

Experience

  • Extensive years of B2B sales experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, or related sectors.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Experience both managing client accounts and generating new revenue.
  • Knowledge of the Canadian pharmacy industry and familiarity with healthcare professional audiences is an asset.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace tools.

  • Self-motivated and proactive in driving sales and client success.

Salary Range

  • $75 - $90,000, plus bonus/commission
