A New CPhA: Lead, Educate, Innovate
A lot has changed at the Canadian Pharmacists Association (CPhA) over the past year. Just as the pharmacist profession is changing and pharmacists are taking on expanded roles in the delivery of health care in Canada, CPhA is also expanding, adapting, and building new partnerships to ensure that we are providing pharmacists with a strong national voice and with the tools and supports they need as they take on an enhanced role in the health care system.
I was thrilled to stand alongside CPhA’s outgoing Chair Jane Farnham at the recent Canadian Pharmacists Conference 2015 in Ottawa and officially launch CPhA’s new mission, vision, and strategic plan. Surely there couldn’t have been a better place to introduce the new course for CPhA’s future than at the largest conference in our 107-year history, with over 1000 participants in attendance.
A New CPhA
Our new 3-year strategic plan, developed with the support of CPhA’s Board of Directors, is defined by three priority areas: Lead, Educate, Innovate. These priorities set CPhA’s future on a clear path, and with the strength and support of pharmacy associations across Canada at our side, CPhA is equipped to provide the leadership, tools and support to advance the pharmacist profession and the health of Canadians. This is an exciting time of growth and opportunity for Canadian pharmacists, and CPhA is very excited about what lies ahead.
