CPhA Takes Action: CPhA in the community
Haitian relief effort
The Board of Directors and staff of the Canadian Pharmacists Association (CPhA) wish to express sympathy for the people of Haiti, and the families of Haitians and Canadians awaiting word about their loved ones. In light of the recent tragedy, CPhA has made a donation to Pharmacists Without Borders to support its efforts in Haiti.
We encourage all members to contribute to the Haitian relief effort by donating to the charity of their choice. Note that the Government of Canada will match funds donated to these, and other registered charities, providing greater strength to the relief effort.
Holiday giving 2009
CPhA staff members generously opened their hearts and wallets during the 2009 holiday season!
Our Shepherds of Good Hope campaign supported one family this year. A total of $351.52, plus a mountain of donated toys, food and clothing helped make the holidays a little brighter for an Ottawa mom and her four children.
We also supported the broader community with a very successful 2009 United Way campaign. CPhA staff donated $6062.85, helping Ottawa achieve a record breaking $30.7 million campaign total.
